We do not carry patterns for GRP cruisers – we only make bespoke covers. The age of many of these boats means that very few are still completely original. Most have had more than one cover already and it is possible that frames and windscreens are no longer standard. In addition, putting a new cover on gives an opportunity to design a cover that might better suit the current owner: Heights can be changed, access dramatically improved and stowage bettered. Therefore all our cruiser canopies have the following features:
A new 16-gauge stainless steel frame and fittings.
A two zipped doorway on both sides
Removable side cloths with windows to the customer’s requirements.
A zipped rear-opening panel with window
Price guide: A new marine vinyl canopy and two-spar frame for a 23’ Norman (or any other similar style of cruiser) with a windscreen in good condition will cost £650.00. For an acrylic fabric a surcharge of £80.00 would apply. For other styles (e.g. centre cockpit) or sizes please contact us for prices and advice.
We will be on our moorings at Pickering's Bridge on the Bridgewater Canal until spring 09 when we intend to repeat our attempt to get to Ireland for a couple of seasons of serious cruising. Having realised this year that woodwork and cruising are not compatible, we will be ceasing to make cratchboards when we leave our mooring so, if you wanted a cratch and board combination, then this will be the last winter to order one.We are currently working on a lead time of 4 -6 weeks.
